ERWIN BECHTOLD

The present volume pays tribute to seven decades of artistic creation. Erwin Bechtolds oeuvre unfolds in a presentation independent of chronology and oriented towards the artistic statement: early Informel works accompany his constructive, geometrically arranged paintings, which all share the principle of disruption. Tension and irritation also characterise his more recent works, in which Bec htold combines gestural-drawing and rational-geometric elements.
